    Marissa Allen was awarded student of the month of April. She received the news while sitting in her Spanish class on Bowie High School campus. She is an outstanding student with a good work ethic. Exhibiting these traits why she won this award.

            Every month there is an award given to a student, whose teachers or other staff nominate. The award is for academic excellence and extracurricular achievement. The award is usually given out during the school day to that diligent student. Later that day there is a ceremony and the student receives a trophy as a reward.

There are many perks to being student of the month, when asked what was her favorite part?, Marissa said “I get special treatment from my parents, I got a party in my Spanish class, and it looks good on my collage resume.”

When asked, why is that your favorite part of being student of the month? Marissa replied “Because its nice to get special treatment once and awhile.”

Becoming student of the month can be a tough and challenging goal to reach but the best thing you can do is "being kind to teachers and peers, going to tutoring often, and volunteering in your community" Marissa said.

Finding out you have been student of the month is shocking and exciting, students find out during the school day “someone came in with a banner and handed me a cupcake. Then balloons and confetti followed.” Allen said.

The student of the month must set a good example, Marissa sets her example by “being involved in the community” and “volunteering” said Marissa.

Every student of the month has to be nominated somehow, Marissa said “All of my teachers, and the vice principal” had nominated her.

  There are many prizes the student of the month receives “A party, an assembly, a trophy, a no homework pass, and a section in the newspaper.” Marissa said.

Nut graf

   A Nut graf is a sentence or sentences that summarize the story. They are usually part of the feature story. Nut graf is just a short way of saying paragraph in a nutshell. In most news papers this system of writing is used. It sums up the story into a shorter version.
    
   Since nut graphs pertain to mainly feature stories they are told in a narrative perspective. The story tells the details as if everything is known by them. Who, what, when, where, and how are to be answered the soonest. They are normally the first things to be answered in a nut graf.

I think this statement is true, because if you move houses or places and bring your belongings i believe it still feels like home.

Yes, because it looked fun and colorful.
