The success kid meme went viral with many people using it in posts, and the money raised went to the kid's father for a new kidney. This is human interest because of the emotional connection.

Other high school news papers

1. What is your favorite newspaper front page? Why? 
Climate change in the great lakes, because it was the cover that grabbed my attention.

2. Which paper immediately grabbed your interest? Why? 
Climate change in the great lakes, because the front page design is unique and colorful.

3. What is your favorite headline from that newspaper? Why are you interested in it? 
Freshman tutoring is a hit, because I'm a freshman and if any tutoring tips could help me i would want to learn them.

4. How many stories are on the front page of your favorite? 
Three

5. What do you notice that all newspaper front pages have in common? Look at design, size of photos, size of story text, etc.
Some have lots of text and some have a large cover photo and side stories.

6. What are things that vary (or are different) on the front pages of different newspapers? Look at design, size of photos, size of headlines, etc. 
Some have one photo, some have many and some jut have mainly text.

7. Were these similar to what you saw last class when you looked at daily newspapers from around the world? 
Some what, the ones around the world didn't have a huge cover photo they were more text orientated.

Teaser- a short introductory advertisement for a passage

Flag- draw attention to.

Folios- an individual leaf of paper or parchment, numbered on the recto or front side only, occurring either loose as one of a series or forming part of a bound volume.

Captions- a title or brief explanation appended to a image.

Stories- a report of an item of news in a newspaper, magazine, or news broadcast.

Bylines- a line in a newspaper naming the writer of an article.

Jumps- pass quickly or abruptly from one idea, subject, or state to another.

Story dividers- things that divide different passages. 

Screens- a flat piece of ground glass on which the image formed by a camera lens is focused.

Infographics- a visual image used to represent information.

Cancer Diagnosis Doesn't Stop Gomez
A theater teacher, Roberto Gomez was diagnosed with liver cancer. The story talks about how Gomez is recognized by the community for his 31 years of generosity and dedication as an educator. Sadly Gomez's tumor is inoperable, partially due to the fact that is located on his liver, just below his heart. The Gomez family all pull together along with their support of community to continue Mr.Gomez's passion to teach theater.

2A. Why is this your least favorite? because the people aren't the center of the photo and overall not appealing.

3. If you were a photographer on staff, which event/photo assignment would you have liked to do for this issue?
You will need to look through the entire paper and see the topics covered and decide which one you think would have been fun.
I would've liked to photograph the varsity soccer players.
4. Overall, how would you rate the photography in this issue? What were the strong points and weak points.
Overall it was ok, strong points were some of the bright photos grabbed your attention and helped you picture they story. Weak points were some pictures don't support the story and there are mistakes in almost every article.

1. What is your favorite newspaper front page? Why?
Daily miner, because I like the subjects they wrote about, one example is the no kill shelter.

Death takes a holiday, because is about a no kill shelter.

The names, and different subjects vary from one to the other.
